Since 1987, Hospice Thornhill has worked to provide community-based palliative care ensuring that all residents and their families, affected by a life threatening illness, have access to timely, compassionate, caring, and quality end of life and grief support. Over 2,000 individuals, families and caregivers within the Thornhill communities of the City of Vaughan and the Township of Markham have turned to the Hospice for help as they face the news of a serious illness.

Hospice Thornhill offers non-medical and emotional support to in-home clients and their care givers including client home visitation, assistance with meals, phone calls & shopping, transportation to appointments, weekly day-respite programs, along with an array of bereavement programs and one-on-one support for those who have lost of family members, children, spouses, and loved ones. In addition to the comfort and care that is provided to family and friends, Hospice Thornhill works in partnerships with doctors, clergy, and other caregivers in the community.

More than 1,600 volunteers of all ages and walks of life have devoted their time, energy and hearts in working with Hospice Thornhill to ensure that all residents and their families, affected by a life threatening illness and grief, have access to timely, compassionate, caring, and quality end of life support.
